A barn is rife with lots of implements, tools, whosits, thingamabobs, and whatsits made of metal, and all need an organized home.
Magnetic Attraction Hack
I bought a magnetic knife strip at Ikea years ago and I never got around to installing it in my kitchen. It has now found the perfect home in my barn. Mine is called a Grundtal and they don’t have that particular model anymore but they have one called Fintorp. I mean, why not?
Otherwise, there are options on Amazon, including models from the giant Swedish boxstore itself (with, thankfully, no chance of being sucked into buying meatballs and cinnamon rolls). This one* got good reviews on Amazon and, through the magic of Prime, it will be at your door in days.
Prime Time Crush
I love Amazon Prime, but it always makes me think of Deion Sanders. For those not in the know, Deion Luwynn Sanders Sr. was in the NFL for 14 seasons and played for the Atlanta Falcons, the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Ravens. He also played professional baseball. He won two Super Bowl titles and played in the World Series, so he’s kind of a big deal.
Anyway, when we lived in Dallas, my dog walking route went by Deion “Prime Time” Sanders’ house. He had a big, honking front gate that said “Prime Time” on it, so Amazon Prime always reminds me of Deion. But I digress.
Back to the magnetic knife holders on Amazon: I would steer away from the stick-on versions. The dirt, dust and moisture that are inherent barn life would probably render them less than sticky fairly quickly.
If you’ve got too many things to put on your magnetic strip, if may be time to declutter. Don’t know where to begin? Check out the tips to keep the things you love and toss the rest.
Just think, with your magnetic personality and a magnetic knife holder, you’ll show everyone you’re worth your metal (Sorry, I know it’s mettle but I just HAD go big or go home). Just like Deion.
